Originally from the Republic of Moldova, Andrian has performed cello as soloist most recently premiering a piece for Wind band and solo cello with Los Alamos Community Winds. As a professional he has held a tenured contract with Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, and contracts with Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, Wilmington Ballet, Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, and is an avid chamber musician now performing in New York City. Andrian frequently performs as substitute cellist all over the country including principal for South Florida Symphony Orchestra, and section cello for Reading Symphony, and Lancaster Symphony. He also currently plays in Palisades Sinfonietta and Classical Nomads Philharmonic in New York City.

As a professional conductor he has subbed for Helena Symphony Orchestra and several Community orchestras from Maryland to Delaware.

He began his musical journey as a cellist, studying at the National University in Bucharest, Romania with Dr. Razvan Suma and toured with the Central European Initiative Youth Orchestra. From there, he completed a masters degree in Southeastern Louisiana University with Daniel Cassin and then earned his doctorate degree at Louisiana State University with Dennis Parker. During his time in Louisiana, Andrian won the first prize in the LSU concerto competition and second prize in the Monroe Symphony concerto competition, he also held a tenure contract with Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra while playing with several symphonies throughout Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas. He was also used for a body double in several movies including Bill and Ted Face the Music.

During his doctoral studies he also began studying conducting as a minor with Carlos Riazuelo and went on to be an assistant conductor of Baton Rouge Civic Orchestra. He received his Masters in Orchestral conducting from the University of Delaware studying under Dr. James Allen Anderson where he taught the University Strings ensemble (an extracurricular orchestra for music and non-music majors). Since then Andrian has subbed as conductor for Helena Symphony, Salisbury Symphony (MD), and serves as assistant conductor for the Newark Symphony (DE).

About my teaching Method
I usually begin students no earlier than age 8 as a personal philosophy. I will teach younger students if they are already playing in school orchestra. I use a combination of books depending on the student’s goals. These goals could be related to preparing for youth orchestra auditions, chair placement in school orchestra, or a piece they want to learn. I work with all levels of students from beginner to advanced students preparing for college auditions.
