Hello from the String Family!
We are a family owned studio located in Washington Heights (near Bennett Park). We offer both in-studio and in-home private violin, viola, and cello lessons for all levels of students and group lessons for beginner students.
Dr. Nicole Fassold-Harabaru and Dr. Andrian Harabaru, bring years of experience as performers and pedagogues and a passion for music education. Learn more about us and our methods on our about pages!
We teach from different methods, but our teaching philosophy stays the same- that our studio center on positive discipline, a warm, engaging environment, and a focus on nurturing the family relationship from the lesson to the practice room so students at all levels and however they wish to pursue music can thrive in their musical journey, feeling supported the entire way.
Private and group lessons
Some students love the environment of being encouraged by peers and others need the focus of a one on one setting. Some students dream of starting lessons but the cost of private lessons is holding them back. Whatever the reason we offer both options to help grow our neighborhood string family!
Daily in-home practice partners
For families with busy work schedules but want to make sure their beginner students have daily practice consistency, we have a limited number of in-home practice help sessions for an added fee.

Group Lessons
We offer group beginner classes based on interest and age. Classes are 45 minutes long and are between 2 and 4 students that are closely related in age. Parent attendance required for ages 12 and under.
First classes begin the week of February 3rd. Enrolment continues throughout the semester as we have interest. Located in our studio near Bennett park, Washington Heights.
Private in-home or in-studio Lessons
30, 45, or 1 hour lessons available. Tailored to each individual student.
An added travel fee is discussed depending on location for in-home lessons.
